British Red Cross
Since 1992, the International Fundraising Committee of the British Red Cross has raised millions of pounds for people in crisis. Chaired by Maria Shammas MBE, with vice chairperson Carlota Wigglesworth, the IFC currently has over 200 members. In collaboration with former UK ambassador of Venezuela Francisco Kerdel-Vegas, the Venezuela Viva Royal Gala was successfully materialized in the legendary London Palladium in October 2011.
"The show Venezuela Viva carries an important message: Art, Music and Dance, transcend differences, cultures, creeds and political divides. Venezuela itself is the creation, over four hundred years, of people from four continents living together, assimilating each others' cultures, sharing, teaching, learning from and celebrating one another."
